Folder not synced

Microsoft 365 (i.e. Office 365) folder sync issues

Microsoft 365 folder synchronization traffic not forwarded correctly

  • Verify that the webhook URL specified in Configuration->Connections->Office 365 (e.g. https://mailarchiva.company.com/o365) is correct and accessible from the Internet. Do so by opening the URL in a browser and verifying that an HTTP response is received. Refer toNginx settings.
  • Verify that there is a port forward rule defined and enabled on your firewall that forwards HTTPS (port 443) traffic from the external IP address assigned to MailArchiva to MailArchiva's internal IP address on your local area network (LAN).
  • Ping the FQDN (equivalent of mailarchiva.company.com) and verify that the IP address returned resolves to the correct external IP address. If not, ensure that there is an A record defined for MailArchiva on your DNS manager and that it corresponds with the external IP address assigned to MailArchiva and linked forwarded on your firewall.
  • Ensure that the MailArchiva web console is accessible via HTTPS. HTTPS is a requirement for incoming folder sync traffic.

Unsupported certificate key type

It is important that your certificate must not have an Elliptic Curve (EC) key. It must be RSA. Office 365 doesn't like it otherwise. Also, the connection will not work if there is no compatible cipher.
