Message Threading
Clicking on the thread icon next to a message in the search interface displays a selectable list of messages that form part of a conversation thread.
Related messages are ideally supposed to be linked using a Thread-ID field in the header of a message. However, in reality, only a small percentage of replies typically contain this field. To address this issue, MailArchiva employs sophisticated pattern matching algorithms to compare message content and group related messages together.
The message export function includes an option to export related messages. With this checkbox ticked, all messages pertaining to all reply structures in the search results will be included. This option is especially helpful when responding to e-Discovery requests. Often, times e-Discovery auditors will want to include not only all messages from a resultant search, but also all messages in related conversation threads.
