The hold feature flags specific emails as never to be deleted (by retention rules or by users). Its purpose is to ensure that specific emails are not deleted while they are being reviewed. 




To hold a selection of emails:


  1. Perform a search containing the desired emails that need to be held
  2. Select the emails to be held by clicking on the corresponding checkboxes in the search results.
  3. Click the hold button in the Search Toolbar
  4. Drawing PIN icons will be shown next to each item with the hold status
