Quick Setup

 

MailArchiva is known for its quick and easy installation. A basic setup can take less than five minutes to complete.


Prerequisites
 

  1. Meet the minimum requirements needed to run MailArchiva
  2. Download the latest release of MailArchiva


Installation

 

Upgrade: If you're upgrading from a previous version of the product, rather refer to the Upgrade Instructions.

 

  1. Follow install instructions specific to your platform.
     
    Windows Install
    Linux Install
  2. From a web browser, access MailArchiva from http://localhost:8090
  1. Follow the onscreen Start Wizard to complete a basic setup
     
Login Prompt? If a login prompt appears instead of the Wizard, please enter "admin", "admin" as the username and password respectively. The product can be configured just as easily without the wizard. Everything can be done from the Configuration page. Simply set an encryption password, create a new volume, set the master login password. Thereafter, follow the configuration steps below.

 

Wizard Bug: Some users report that in some operating environments, the Wizard's Finish button needs to be clicked twice for it to complete. If, after clicking twice, you still experience this problem, refer to Wizard Won't Complete troubleshooting article for a resolution.

 

Browser Requirements Although every effort has been made to ensure end-user functions are accessible to users with older browsers, some administration functions require a modern standard compliant browser such as Google Chrome. Please use Google Chrome for administering the product where possible. If you do decide to use Microsoft Internet Explorer IE9+, remember to switch off IE Enhanced Security Mode and switch off Compatibility View modes as they interfere with the proper functioning of MailArchiva's user interface.

 

Configuration

 

 

  1. Connect MailArchiva to your mail server
     
  2. Setup Active Directory or LDAP authentication
     
  3. Create an SMTP client connection
     
  4. Import/migrate historical data
     
  5. Install a license file
