Cloud Final Steps

After Cloud Setup, configure your mail service (e.g. Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace) to forward journaling traffic to MailArchiva as per below.

 

Microsoft 365 - Configure a journal rule in Microsoft 365 (i.e. Office 365) to forward traffic to MailArchiva

Google Workspace - Configure routing Google Workspace to forward SMTP traffic to MailArchiva

Microsoft 365 (i.e. Office 365)

 

Complete the Microsoft 365 (i.e. Office 365) configuration steps below to forward traffic to the MailArchiva Cloud.

 

From within the Exchange Admin Center:
 

  1. Visit Microsoft Purview

  2. In the Admin section on the left, click Exchange
  3. Select Data lifecycle management from the left menu, then Exchange
  4. Select Journal Rules from the sub menu at the top right
  5. If you haven't already, choose a local mailbox where undeliverable journal reports are to be sent.
  6. Press "+" to create a new journal rule
  7. In Send Journal Reports To field, enter archiva@archive.archiva.com (for US MailArchiva Cloud) or archiva@archive.mailarchiva.eu (for EU MailArchiva Cloud)
  8. In Name field, enter "archiva"
  9. In the "If the message is sent to or received from.." field, select "Apply to All Messages"
  10. In "Journal the following messages.." select "All messages"
  11. Click Save.

After the above steps are completed, MailArchiva should begin receiving journaling traffic. Click Search to see the email appearing in the search results.

 

Google Workspace

 

Choose Option 1) or Option 2) below.

 

Option 1) Google Workspace Enterprise customers

 

  • Go to the Admin Console of your Google Apps domain

  • Choose Apps, then Google Workspace, then Gmail

  • Select Routing at the bottom of the page.

  • Click Configure in Third party archiving section

  • Below, "Send journal messages to this email address":
    • If using the MailArchiva USA site, enter the address archive@archive.archiva.com
    • If using the MailArchiva EU site, enter the address archive@archive.mailarchiva.eu
  • Click Save.

 

Option 2) All Google Workspace customers

 

  • Go to the Admin Console of your Google Apps domain

  • Choose Apps, then Google Workspace, then Gmail

  • Select Routing at the bottom of the page.

  • In the Routing section, click Configure.

  • Enter MailArchiva for a short description of the route.

  • Select Internal sending and Internal receiving.

  • Check Add more recipients under "For the above types of messages, modify message.."

  • In the email address field, enter:

    • If using the MailArchiva USA site, enter the address archive@archive.archiva.com
    • If using the MailArchiva EU site, enter the address archive@archive.mailarchiva.eu
  • Click Save.

 

After the above steps are completed, MailArchiva should begin receiving journaling traffic. Click Search to see the email appearing in the search results.
