e,s,d,t,v,h,i,j,k,n,p) are blocked when a text input, textarea, or select element has focus. Modifier-key combos (Ctrl/Cmd/Alt+letter) are also excluded from the single-letter switch, preventing conflicts with browser or OS shortcuts.
