Smartermail

MailArchiva can be configured to journal messages from the Smartermail Professional Edition mail server.
 

The instructions for setting up journaling in Smartermail is outlined below. The general idea is to first create a journal mailbox. This mailbox will be used as a temporary storage location for copied emails. Thereafter, instruct Smartermail to send copies of both sent and received emails to the journal mailbox.

1. Login to the Smartermail web console
2. Create a new mailbox called "journal"
3. Click the Events main menu on the left
4. Click New Event
5. In Event Name, type "receive journalling"
6. Select Event Category "Email"
7. Select Event Type "Message Received"
8. Check To Address, Select "Not Equals", then enter ZZZZZZ
9. Click Actions menu at the top
10. Click Add Action
11. Enter "journaling" in Action name
12. Select "Add Recipient" as action
13. In Recipient field, enter "journal@domain.local" (where domain.local is your domain name)
14. Click Save, then Save Event
15. Click New Event
16. In Event Name, type "sent journalling"
17. Select Event Category "Email"
18. Select Event Type "Message Sent"
19. Check To Address, Select "Not Equals", then enter ZZZZZZ
20. Click Actions menu at the top
21. Click Add Action
22. Enter "journaling" in Action name
23. Select "Add Recipient" as action
24. In Recipient field, enter "journal@domain.local" (where domain.local is your domain name)
25. Click Save, then Save Event
26. Login to the MailArchiva console
27. In Configuration->Journal Accounts, click "New Journal Account"
28. In Protocol, select IMAP
29. In Server, enter Smartermail IP address
30. In username, enter "journal"
31. In password, enter journal mailbox password
32. Ensure that "Listen for message arrival notifications from server (IMAP Idle)" is unchecked. (Smartermail does not support IMAP Idle)
33. Save and Test Connection
